Published 5 April 2022

Gender Pay Gap Report 2022

At Orion Electrotech, we are committed to transparency, equality and creating an inclusive workplace where people
are rewarded fairly for their contribution. Our annual Gender Pay Gap Report helps us understand how pay and bonus
outcomes differ between men and women across our organisation and informs the actions we take to promote equality
and diversity.

Our 2022 report is based on the snapshot date of 5th April 2022. At that time, Orion Electrotech
employed 282 people, including both internal employees and agency workers on our payroll.
The report is generated using 282 full-pay relevant employees: 217 agency workers
(174 male / 43 female) and 65 internal staff (29 male / 36 female).

Key findings and takeaways

  • Across our combined workforce, the mean gender pay gap was -1.0% and the
median gender pay gap was 0.0%.
  • The mean gender bonus pay gap was 35.0% and the
median gender bonus pay gap was 34.0%, reflecting the influence of commission-based roles
    within our internal workforce.
  • Within our internal staff, the mean gender pay gap was 31.4% and the
median gender pay gap was 34.0%, influenced by promotions into higher-earning roles that include
    commission structures.
  • Female representation increased in the upper pay quartile by 3% compared to the previous year,
alongside a reduction in the lower pay quartile and growth in the lower-middle quartile.
  • When excluding bonus payments, the internal mean gender pay gap would reduce significantly, highlighting the
impact of commission-based earnings within sales roles.

Understanding the results

As a recruitment business, our gender pay gap results are influenced by the industries we support and the structure
of our workforce. Agency worker pay is often determined by our clients, and many of the sectors we operate in
remain traditionally male-dominated. For this reason, our analysis includes both the combined workforce data and a
separate view of internal employees to provide a clearer understanding of Orion’s position as an employer.

Our commitment

Orion Electrotech is committed to equality and continually developing a better understanding of our gender pay gap
so we can implement appropriate actions to support diversity and inclusion. Our recruitment processes and
remuneration packages are based on role, experience, skills and responsibilities, ensuring fairness across the
organisation.
