Quarterly Wrap-Up | Oct – Dec 2025

Delivering Impact Through Consistency, Commitment and Care
As the market continues to test resilience across engineering, infrastructure, and construction, Orion Electrotech has remained focused on what matters most: delivering meaningful outcomes for the businesses and individuals we support.
Q2 saw hiring decisions slow in parts of the market, approval processes tighten, and specialist talent remain in short supply. Yet across our Engineering & Manufacturing, Utilities, and Construction divisions, our teams have continued to demonstrate that consistent effort, strong relationships, and sector expertise create real impact, regardless of conditions.
Engineering & Manufacturing: Supporting Growth in a Demanding Market
Within Engineering & Manufacturing, activity levels reflect both client demand and sustained consultant commitment:
- 235 permanent roles registered
- 85 contract roles registered
- 455 interviews arranged
- 95 permanent placements
- 105 contract placements
- 93 client meetings held
- 5 new talent partnerships secured
Behind these numbers sit major outcomes. Businesses have secured the specialist engineers and manufacturing professionals they need to maintain productivity and innovation, while candidates have moved into roles aligned with their experience, ambitions, and long-term career plans.
High interview volumes and consistent client engagement ensured momentum was maintained even as decision-making slowed across parts of the market. This proactive approach allowed clients to plan with confidence and candidates to progress with clarity and support.
The addition of new talent partnerships has further strengthened Orion’s ability to support niche and complex hiring requirements across automation, advanced manufacturing, and high-precision engineering environments.
New Talent Partnerships:
- Industrial Physics
- enGauged Limited
- ARCHER TECHNICOAT LIMITED
- Zetes
- CSD Automation
- Inductotherm Heating & Welding Ltd
Utilities & Gas: Supporting Essential Infrastructure
Within Utilities and Gas, 37 contract placements played a key role in maintaining continuity across essential infrastructure projects.
In a sector where compliance, speed, and reliability are critical, these placements ensured operational teams remained fully resourced. For clients, this reduced risk and disruption. For candidates, it provided secure, well-managed contract opportunities within a highly regulated environment.
Construction: Delivering at Pace
Construction performance continued to reflect both demand and delivery capability:
- 237 contract roles registered
- 237 contract placements delivered
This one-to-one delivery demonstrates the effectiveness of Orion’s construction recruitment model, matching skilled labour to project timelines quickly and accurately.
For clients, this meant reduced downtime, safer sites, and projects progressing as planned. For candidates, it meant consistent work, clear expectations, and access to reputable contractors across the sector.
People, Recognition and Shared Success
Alongside performance delivery, Orion continues to recognise the people behind the outcomes — those whose professionalism, persistence, and commitment directly translate into positive results for clients and candidates.

These incentives aren’t about short-term wins. They celebrate the behaviours that consistently drive long-term value for the people and businesses we support.
Looking Forward
Q2 delivered a strong uplift in engagement across both candidates and clients, building momentum month after month. With the post-budget landscape now clearer, businesses are pushing ahead with their hiring plans.
Our focus remains the same: staying close to clients and candidates, driving high-quality activity, and ensuring not a single opportunity slips through the net.
Every interview arranged, every placement secured, and every partnership formed strengthens teams, builds more resilient businesses, and moves careers forward with intent and purpose.
A Closing Reflection from our Managing Director
“The market still isn’t easy, and that’s something we’ve been very open about. We don’t see that as a reason not to push to deliver incredible results each quarter. Hiring decisions have slowed, talent has become harder to secure, and expectations across all sectors are higher than ever.
What I’m most proud of is how our teams across Reading and Aylesbury have responded — by staying consistent, building real collaborative partnerships with their clients and candidates, and continuing to deliver when it matters most.
The achievements we’re recognising aren’t just numbers on a board; they represent tangible impact for the businesses we support and the people whose careers we help shape.
It’s great to see so many of the team heading away on the Courmayeur ski incentive trip this weekend as a reward for that effort — they’ve truly earned it.
As we move forward, our focus remains exactly where it should be: delivering lasting recruitment impact, supporting critical projects across our sectors, and continuing to do right by the clients and candidates who trust us.”
