Meet Jamie

I specialise in supporting businesses across engineering, manufacturing, and maintenance, helping them find the right people to keep their operations running smoothly. I work closely with a wide range of companies, from large manufacturing sites to smaller engineering firms, matching them with skilled candidates who fit both the role and the culture. My focus is on building strong relationships and delivering a smooth, reliable recruitment process.

What attracted you to working at Orion, and what were your reasons for joining?

What attracted me to Orion was the flexibility and the chance to try something completely new. I loved that the role allowed me to grow, learn and challenge myself. Orion felt like a place where I could develop real skills, progress at my own pace, and be part of a team.

What is your proudest achievement at Orion?

My proudest achievement at Orion was helping a candidate who had just moved to the UK secure his first role here. I supported him through every step, including setting up his limited company so he could start on a contract position. With time, he proved himself, settled into the business, and eventually received a full‑time job offer. Knowing I played a part in helping him build a new life and career here was incredibly rewarding.

What do you enjoy most about your role at Orion?

What I enjoy most about my role at Orion is helping people find their ideal roles and seeing the positive impact it has on them. When a candidate is genuinely happy in their new position, it’s incredibly rewarding. I also enjoy building relationships, supporting clients, and knowing that the work I do makes a real difference to both businesses and individuals. It’s a fast‑paced role, but that’s exactly what motivates me every day. I also enjoy working on the weird and wonderful roles, the ones that don’t immediately make sense. I love getting stuck in, learning something completely new, and becoming the expert by the time I’ve filled the position.

What are your interests outside of work?

Outside of work, I love spending quality time with my friends and family, they’re a big part of my life. I also really enjoy going to music festivals, discovering new artists, and soaking up the atmosphere. Travelling is another passion of mine; I love exploring new places, meeting new people, and experiencing different cultures whenever I can.
