Kay Wren
Meet Kay
I have worked for Orion for many years in various roles, I now look after the Quality and Compliance for the Group. As a company we care a great deal about compliance and always doing the right thing for our Clients and Candidates, Customer Care is key to us.
What attracted you to working at Orion, and what were your reasons for joining?
I was approached by another Recruitment Business, the Group MD at the time showed me around the office and talked about the fun office culture. Before I even joined, I was invited on their incentive to Rimini, I knew this was the place I wanted to work! In 2001 I moved over to a different part of the group and helped set up our Rail team, which was very exciting and proved very successful!
What is your proudest achievement at Orion?
I have had quite a few over the years, gaining our RISQS (link-up as it was then) and ISO 9001 qualifications for the first time. A proud moment was being the first Recruitment business to move into ISO 9001:2015. It is always nice to have feedback from external auditors about how well organised and managed our processes are. In 2023 I, along with some of my colleagues, completed the 3 Peaks Challenge, it was tough but such an achievement, we raised a lot of money for a charity very close to my heart.
What do you enjoy most about your role at Orion?
I enjoy helping people, driving continual improvements and making sure we are staying compliant, this involves liaising with internal employees as well as external clients, candidates and suppliers. My job is very varied and each day there is often a new challenge. We have such a supportive office, everyone looks out for each other and celebrates each other’s wins.
What are your interests outside of work?
I love spending time with my family and friends, going on walks, out for food/coffee or to watch a film. My biggest passion is travel and I have been very lucky to visit many countries but still have lots to see.
