Meet Lucy

I lead the Engineering, Manufacturing & Technical division at Orion, supporting businesses across the South of the UK with the full product lifecycle, from conceptual design through to manufacture, on both a permanent and contract basis. My sales team focus on client partnership, ensuring we deeply understand requirements and deliver exceptional service. Our delivery teams specialise by discipline, giving them an inch‑wide, mile‑deep understanding of the candidate market to source the best talent quickly and effectively.

What attracted you to working at Orion, and what were your reasons for joining?

I was really drawn to Orion because it gave me the chance to work with such a wide variety of Engineering and Manufacturing businesses, learning new sectors and technologies every day. It was clear from the start that the business truly has the expertise and capability to deliver real value to its clients. On top of that, the training and development offered was outstanding, the kind of support that sets you up to grow, progress, and build a real career.

What is your proudest achievement at Orion?

My proudest achievement at Orion is twofold. First, partnering with some phenomenal businesses and helping them build from the ground up, it’s a brilliant feeling to play a small part in that success. Second (and my greatest pride), my team. Their commitment, consistency and delivery make everything possible. Without their daily drive, the unglamorous hard yards as well as the big wins, I couldn’t do what I do. They’re the engine behind our results.

What do you enjoy most about your role at Orion?

What I enjoy most about my role at Orion is the diversity, working with so many different people and businesses, each with their own challenges and opportunities. No two days are ever the same, and I love being part of finding the right solution for each client. But above all, it’s the people that make this job what it is. Being able to play a part in their growth, success and journey is genuinely the most rewarding part of what I do.

What are your interests outside of work?

Outside of work, I love running (or at least trying to!) and pushing myself a little further each time. After finally conquering my fear of flying, holidays are now firmly on the agenda, so I’m excited to start exploring more of the world. And of course… dogs! Whether it’s my own or anyone else’s, they’re definitely one of my biggest joys in life.
